Most FirstVoices content is available to everyone without registration, at the discretion of communities. However, becoming signing up with a general FirstVoices member account allows us to present you with content that is personalized to you.

How to register for an account

  1. Go to the FirstVoices homepage and click on "Sign In / Register".

  1. Fill out the registration page with the information you would like to share. You will need to enter your email address to complete registration.

  2. When you have filled out all of the required fields, click "

  1. Check your email. You will be emailed a link to set your password. This should be done as soon as possible as the link will expire.

Set your password!

If you don't receive an email within a few minutes please check your junk folder. Your registration is not complete until you have set your password.

  1. Login to your FirstVoices account.

  2. Go to the Explore Languages page and click on the public site you wish to join.

  3. From the main language site pagehomepage, click the button “Request to join [SITE]”at the top that says “Join”.

  4. Fill out the Join Request form and submit it.

  2. Go to the Explore Languages page and click on the private site you wish to join.

  3. In the popup, click “Yes” “Request to join” to confirm that you are a member of the community or team.

  4. Fill out the Join Request form and submit it.

After completing these steps, you’ll have to wait for the community Language Administrator to approve your request before you will be able to view the Members-Only site or its content.

You can request to join any private site, but there are some reasons why your registration may not be approved, or why you may end up waiting a long time for approval. Some sites are under active construction and the Language Team may not wish to add new members until it is ready. Other sites have no active Language Team, so there may not be anyone to approve the request.
