Using keyboards on Chromebooks

If you are installing your keyboard on a Chromebook, Keyman keyboards are not currently compatible. However, if the model of your Chromebook has Tablet Mode, then For all Chromebooks produced since the beginning of 2019, you can use the FirstVoices Keyboard App from the Google Play store. If your older Chromebooks has Tablet Mode, you can also use that app when the Chromebook is in tablet mode. And for Chromebooks that don't have tablet mode, a FirstVoices Chromebook extension is now available for some keyboards. If you would like your keyboard added to the Chromebook extensionTablet Mode.

As of July 2024, we no longer provide a Chromebook extension. If you need to type in your language on an older Chromebook that doesn’t support the FirstVoices Keyboard App, email us at hello@firstvoices.com
