Adding songs and stories




  1. To add new entries for songs or stories click on "Songs" or "Stories".




  2. Click on "Create Song Book" or "Create Story Book".



  3. Fill in the fields following these guidelines:

FieldGuideline
Book titleThe title in the Indigenous language
Book title translationDescribe the title's meaning in English. If needed, you can add multiple meanings.
Book introductionIntroduce the book in the Indigenous language
Introduction translationTranslate the introduction to English. If needed, you can add multiple meanings.
TypeSelect either Song or Story
Related audioUpload the audio recording of the phrase being spoken.
Related picturesUpload a picture that shows the meaning of the song or story.
Related videosUpload a video that shows the meaning of the song or story.
AuthorWho wrote or performed the song or story.
Cultural noteInclude notes about the song or story that relate to cultural practices of the community.
SourceThe name of the language recorder who is making the entry.
Available in Children's ArchiveCheck this button to make the phrase accessible in the children's archive. If the word may be inappropriate for children, leave the button unchecked.


4. Click "Save" to save for the entry.

5. Your entry will be reviewed and published by your language team administrator.





Introduction




All members of a language team can edit entries, while Language Admins and Recorders with Approval on a language team can delete entries on a language site.

You must be logged in as a member of a language team to edit or delete entries. To learn about how language teams work, check out our information on Managing your team's workflow with different roles.



Instructions





1. Select the Song or Story you would like to edit in the "Songs" or "Stories" section. Click "Edit book".



2. You will be redirected to the title page entry form. Edit the info you wish to change, and click "Save" at the top of the page.



3. To edit the book pages, view the Story and click the "Edit / Reorder Pages" button in the Workspace bar. 

4. Scroll to find the page you wish to edit, and click "Edit".



5. A window with the page entry form will appear. Edit the information you wish to change. Click "Save" at the bottom of the entry form window.



6. Pages can be re-ordered using the "Move Up" and "Move Down" buttons
