Create language team accounts

All team members will need to register for a FirstVoices account in order to add or edit FirstVoices content. Review this article for instructions on how to register and create an account.

COMING SOON: The FV team is still working on developing the homepage and user registration functionality for the new FirstVoices update. For now, you must share your email address with FirstVoices staff for your account to be created on the new site

  1. Review this article about the different available team roles on FirstVoices.

  2. Amongst yourselves, decide what role each member of the Language Team should have to fit in with your expected workflow.

  3. Once all team members have finished registering for an account and set passwords, the The designated Language Administrator(s) should send the FirstVoices team a list of all team members' accounts (account email addresses ) and the team role they should be assigned.

  4. FirstVoices staff will assign these permissions to each account.

  3. Add a new member to your language site

  4. The designated Language Administrator(s) should let the FirstVoices team know when you have finished registering for an account and set your passwordsigned in. FirstVoices staff will assign you Language Administrator privileges on your language site.

  5. Other team members should now each follow these instructions request membership for the language site:

    1. Login Sign in to the old FirstVoices homepage and visit the Explore Languages pageFirstVoices with your account.

    2. Click on your language site homepage.

    3. Click “Request to join [LANGUAGE SITE]” “Join” and fill out the form to request membership. This will submit a request to the Language Administrator.

  6. The Language Administrator should then follow these instructions approve each team member’s request, providing the correct role:

    1. Log in to FirstVoices and visit your site Dashboard.

    2. Click “Membership requests”

    3. Identify your new language team members and use from the pending requests.

    4. Use the dropdown to assign them choose the correct team role.Click “Approve” , then click “OK” for each team member.

If any language team member has an existing membership on the language site but needs an updated role, this change can only be made by FirstVoices staff. Please contact hello@firstvoices.com with the person’s email address and the new team role they should have.
